About Us

Our Mission

Our mission at The Dirt on Earth is to explore and communicate the more thought-provoking aspects of our planet and beyond. We strive to make geoscience accessible and engaging, bridging the gap between scientific research and public understanding. Join us as we investigate the marvels of Earth and the universe.

Demetria Lynn

Demetria Lynn came late to geology, recently earning a Bachelor of Science from California State University, Long Beach. Before that, she was a network producer for NBC Sports, Los Angeles Kings hockey, and executive producer for The Frosty Heidi and Frank Show. Rather than waste an entire career after a stark pivot to geoscience, Demetria has married her education with her work experience with the creation of The Dirt on Earth.

A lifelong preoccupation with understanding the fundamental mysteries behind existence itself has always driven Demetria. This pursuit led her to earn a geology degree, seeking answers about the physical nature our planet. She quickly realized that geology, as awesome as it is, isn't fundamental enough to quench her thirst for knowledge.

Demetria begins graduate school in the fall of 2024, where she will conduct geophysics research. Her goal is to create a bridge from her geology undergraduate degree to a higher degree in planetary science as part of her journey to understand the fundamental mysteries of existence. Through The Dirt on Earth, Demetria combines her diverse background and passions, bringing a unique perspective to her audience.
